Automotive Desk, Khabar Factory | January 5, 2026:
The wait for the “Safari-Killer” is finally over. Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Mahindra XUV 7XO in India today. Replacing the legendary XUV700, the 7XO (pronounced ‘Seven-Ex-Oh’) arrives with a more aggressive design, a futuristic interior, and a new flagship variant—the AX9L.
With a starting price of ₹14.99 Lakh, the XUV 7XO is set to redefine the premium 7-seater segment.
1. Official Price List (Ex-Showroom, India)
Mahindra has introduced a more diverse range of variants to cater to both budget-conscious families and tech-enthusiasts.

2. What’s New in the Flagship AX9L Variant?
The AX9L is the crown jewel of the XUV 7XO lineup. If you want the absolute best in tech, this is the one.
- The “Coast-to-Coast” Triple Screen: A massive glass panel across the dashboard housing three 12.3-inch screens (Instrument Cluster, Central Infotainment, and a dedicated Passenger Screen).
- 540-Degree Vision System: Beyond a 360° view, it includes an “Under-Car” camera that allows you to see obstacles directly beneath the vehicle—perfect for off-roading or tight city spots.
- Harman Kardon Audio with Dolby Atmos: A 16-speaker setup tuned specifically for the XUV 7XO’s cabin acoustics.
- Automatic Park Assist: The car can steer, accelerate, and brake itself into a parking spot with the touch of a button.
3. Performance: The Heart of the Beast
Mahindra has retained its powerhouse engines but updated them for better fuel efficiency (up to 17 kmpl for the Diesel variant).
- 2.0L mStallion Turbo-Petrol: 200 PS Power | 380 Nm Torque.
- 2.2L mHawk Diesel: 185 PS Power | 450 Nm Torque (Automatic).
- Transmission: 6-Speed Manual and 6-Speed Torque Converter Automatic.
- AWD: All-Wheel Drive remains exclusive to the Diesel AX7 and AX9 variants.

4. Safety First: Level 2+ ADAS
Safety has always been Mahindra’s priority. The XUV 7XO comes with:
- 7 Airbags on higher variants (6 as standard).
- Sense+ ADAS: Includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Pilot Assist, and Emergency Braking with better night-vision detection.
- Structure: Built on the same 5-Star GNCAP platform but with reinforced side-impact protection.
5. Design: Bold & Futuristic
The exterior gets a major refresh inspired by the XEV series:
- C-Shaped LED DRLs: Larger and more prominent.
- Connected Tail Lamps: A sleek LED bar across the rear with a new “7XO” badge.
