Toyota has officially changed the game in the electric SUV segment! Unveiled today

Design: Elegance Meets Electrification

The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV moves away from the rugged, boxy look of its cousins. It sports a sleek, “sensual” design language that is more refined for urban landscapes.

  • Front Fascia: Features vertically stacked LED DRLs and a clean, blanked-off grille.
  • Side Profile: Equipped with 18-inch aero-designed alloy wheels and C-pillar integrated rear door handles for a coupe-like vibe.
  • Rear: A full-width connected LED light bar gives it a high-tech signature at night.

Battery, Power & Range

Toyota is offering the Ebella EV with two LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery options to cater to different driving needs. Both configurations are Front-Wheel Drive (FWD).

Luxury & Tech Inside

The cabin is finished in a sophisticated Brown and Black dual-tone theme with premium soft-touch materials.

  • Twin-Screen Setup: A 10.1-inch digital driver’s display paired with a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen.
  • Comfort: Ventilated front seats, a 10-way powered driver’s seat, and 12-color ambient lighting.
  • Audio: Top-spec variants feature a custom-tuned JBL Sound System with a dedicated sub-woofer.

Safety & ADAS Features

Toyota has packed the Ebella with top-tier safety tech:

  • 7 Airbags as standard across all variants.
  • Level 2 ADAS: Includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
  • 360-Degree Camera: To navigate tight city parking with ease.
  • BNCAP Expectations: Since it shares a platform with the 5-star rated e Vitara, the Ebella is expected to be one of the safest cars in its class.

Revolutionary BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service)

In a move to make EVs more affordable, Toyota is introducing a Battery Rental Scheme (BaaS).

How it works: You pay a lower price for the car upfront and pay a rental fee for the battery based on your usage. This also comes with an 8-year battery warranty and a 60% assured buyback after three years.

Price and Booking

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella EV is expected to be priced between ₹18 Lakh and ₹24.5 Lakh (ex-showroom).

  • Bookings: Open now for a token amount of ₹25,000.
  • Launch Date: Market launch and price announcement are expected by early February 2026.
